Compend ("we", "our", "us") is a conference companion app that helps attendees capture sessions, scan business cards, and generate follow-up reports. We are committed to being specific and accurate about how your data is handled.
Account data: Phone number (for authentication via one-time passcode).
Session audio: When you explicitly start a recording, audio is captured in ~30-second chunks to your device's local storage and streamed over TLS to our transcription provider (Deepgram) for real-time speech-to-text and speaker diarization. Captured audio chunks are retained on your device until you delete the session or clear app data from Settings. Transcripts are synced to your Compend account.
Slide captures and business card scans: Photos you take in the app, along with content extracted from them (slide summaries, speaker names, contact fields such as name, title, email, and phone).
Location: Approximate location is used solely to display recording-consent notices for your jurisdiction. We do not track or store your location history.
Diagnostic data: Crash reports and anonymized product-usage events (e.g., "session started", "photo taken"). Personally identifying fields are stripped before transmission.
Your data is used exclusively to provide Compend's features: session capture, transcription, contact management, and report generation. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Account data and transcripts are stored in Supabase with row-level security policies. Audio files are stored locally on your device in the app's private documents directory. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Authentication tokens and provider keys are stored in the device's secure keychain.
