These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Compend mobile application ("Compend", "the app", "we", "our", "us") and the associated SMS messaging program described below. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Compend. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
Compend uses a phone-number or email one-time passcode (OTP) for sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the phone number or email address associated with your account. You agree to notify us at support@compendapp.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You agree not to: (a) record audio in jurisdictions or contexts where doing so is prohibited; (b) use the app to harass, stalk, or invade the privacy of others; (c) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or bypass security controls in the app; (d) resell or sublicense access to the service.
Program name: Compend Sign-In Verification.
Program description: Compend sends one-time passcodes (OTPs) via SMS to verify sign-in attempts to your Compend account. Messages are strictly transactional and are triggered only when you enter your phone number and tap "Send code" inside the Compend mobile app. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this program.
Message frequency: Message frequency varies and depends on how often you sign in. You will typically receive one message per sign-in attempt.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan.
Supported carriers: Compend's SMS program is delivered via Twilio and supports all major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
HELP: Reply HELP to any Compend message to receive support information. You can also email support@compendapp.com for help at any time.
STOP: Reply STOP to any Compend message to opt out of SMS messages at any time. After you opt out, you will no longer receive SMS verification codes and will need to use email sign-in instead, or reply START to resume SMS sign-in.
Privacy: Information you provide in connection with this SMS program is handled according to our Privacy Policy. Your mobile phone number is used solely to deliver sign-in verification codes and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Compend, the Compend logo, and all associated software, designs, and content are the property of Compend or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Compend trademarks or copyrighted material except to use the app as intended.
You retain ownership of audio, photos, transcripts, and contact information you create or capture in the app ("User Content"). You grant Compend a limited license to process your User Content solely to provide the app's features (for example, transcribing audio, extracting contact fields, and generating session reports).
The app integrates with third-party services (including Supabase, Deepgram, Twilio, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Sentry) as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services through Compend is also subject to their respective terms.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcriptions or AI-generated content will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compend and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
You may stop using the app and request account deletion at any time by contacting support@compendapp.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via email.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of South Carolina.
